Our Inhaler Device Training Unit has been put into service at our hospital. Established to ensure the correct use of inhaler medications, which are crucial in the treatment of asthma and COPD, our unit provides patients with not only theoretical instructions on device usage but also hands-on practical training. We directly observe our patients to correct any potential errors.
The incorrect use of these devices—which are critical to the success of the treatment—can lead to inadequate disease control, an increased risk of exacerbations, and unnecessary changes to treatment.
Our primary goal is to ensure that our patients are using their devices correctly and to maximize treatment adherence by repeating the training whenever necessary.
It is especially important for the overall treatment process that patients be referred to our training unit if they are newly starting inhaler therapy, have had their device changed, or are suspected of having difficulty using it.
