Established in 2014 with a contract and officially licensed in 2017, the Izmir City Hospital is an
extensive healthcare facility situated on 618,405 square meters of land, featuring 628,015 square
meters of enclosed space. The hospital boasts a capacity of 2060 beds, distributed across various
specialized units, including the main building with 485,000 square meters and 1660 beds, the
Physical Therapy Hospital (FTR) with 85,000 square meters and 300 beds, the High-Security Forensic
Psychiatry Hospital (YGAP) covering 25,000 square meters and accommodating 100 beds, and the
Technical Service Buildings (TSB) spanning 32,000 square meters. The hospital also provides ample
parking space, with 20,000 square meters for open parking and 165,000 square meters for enclosed
parking, totaling a capacity of 4828 vehicles. Additionally, there are two heliport areas on the
premises.
The Izmir City Hospital includes specialized units such as a 536-bed Women's and Children's
Hospital (16 Private Birthing Units), a 284-bed Cardiovascular and Cardiology Hospital, a 276-bed
General Hospital, a 596-bed General + Oncology Hospital, a 300-bed Physical Therapy Hospital, and a
100-bed High-Security Forensic Psychiatry Hospital (YGAP), bringing the total registered bed count to
2060.
The hospital is equipped with 337 outpatient clinic rooms, 51 intervention rooms, and 68 support
rooms, providing a total of 456 rooms for outpatient services. It features 40 central operating rooms,
2 burn surgery rooms, 2 IVF fertility surgery rooms, 2 cesarean section surgery rooms, and 8 day
surgery rooms, totaling 54 operating rooms. The hospital also houses 374 intensive care beds.
For interventional procedures, the hospital is equipped with 7 angiography devices (3 for adults, 3
interventional, and 1 for children), 1 ESWL (stone crushing) device, 2 ERCP devices, 4 endoscopy
devices, and 2 bronchoscopy devices.
In the field of Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy Services, the hospital plans to offer high-level
services with 2 PET CT devices, 1 Tomotherapy device, 1 Brachytherapy device, 1 Spect CT device, 1
Spect Cardiac device, 2 Gamma Cameras, and 3 LİNAC devices.
Radiology Imaging Services will include 6 MR devices, 7 CT devices, 18 X-ray devices, 21 Doppler USG
devices, 4 Bone Densitometry devices, and 3 Mammography devices.
The City Hospital incorporates specialized centers, including a Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT)
Center with 18 beds, an Assisted Reproductive Treatment (ART) Center with 2 operating rooms, a
Genetic Diagnosis Center, a Burn Center with 9 patient beds, 2 operating rooms, and 6 intensive care
beds, Dialysis Services with 30 devices, a Comprehensive Oncology Center with 50 beds, a
Radioactive Iodine Treatment Center with 7 rooms, an Organ Transplantation Center, Algology Unit,
Stroke Center, Sleep Center, and a Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center with 10+2 cabins.
All rooms in the hospital, including 973 single rooms and 321 double rooms, will be qualified rooms
with attached bathrooms and toilets.
The hospital aims to initially provide daily services to 3500 adults, 500 children, totaling 4000
emergency room patients, 15,000 outpatient clinic patients, and 1600 inpatients. It is projected to
accommodate a daily person-load of 75,000.
The staffing plan includes over 5000 health professionals, comprising 1300 physicians, 2800 nurses,
300 midwives, and 1000 other healthcare workers.
Apart from medical services, the hospital will feature 1 conference hall for 480 people, another for
100 people, and 105 meeting rooms accommodating 15-20 people each.
