He Came from Libya to İzmir for His Daughter’s Cochlear Implant Surgery
Nhshe Ahaele, a Libyan national, stated that they applied to İzmir City Hospital three weeks ago for a cochlear implant surgery for his 2-year-old daughter, Aruln Aboshl.
Ahaele explained that healthcare services in his country are limited, saying:
"We came to Türkiye, and they took great care of us. The doctors and nurses looked after us very well."
The father, Kamil Aboshl, added that once they learned İzmir City Hospital had a strong reputation for cochlear implant surgeries, they immediately decided to come to Türkiye without hesitation.
Prof. Dr. Abdullah Dalgıç, who performed the surgery, stated that the operation was successful and that they plan for the child to hear for the first time in Türkiye after the external components of the device are attached.
Highlighting the growing number of international patients coming to their hospital, Prof. Dr. Dalgıç added that in the past year alone, they have performed cochlear implant surgeries on four children from different countries.
