Most recently, 46-year-old Russian national Aleksandra Kosenko, who had been recommended for bilateral hip replacement due to severe hip pain in her home country, chose the Orthopedics Clinic of İzmir City Hospital. Orthopedic Specialist Dr. İlker Şenses and his team diagnosed her with hip avascular necrosis (a condition where bone tissue weakens due to insufficient blood supply) and administered stem cell therapy. The minimally invasive procedure lasted about 30 minutes, and Kosenko was discharged in good health the following day.
Kosenko expressed her satisfaction, stating that she chose İzmir City Hospital due to the positive feedback she had heard and its advanced medical technology, and that she would highly recommend it to everyone in Russia. Dr. Şenses explained that hip replacement is no longer the first-line treatment at this stage of the condition and that they opted for stem cell therapy to preserve the hip joint.
