At the Medical Pharmacology Teratogenicity Consultation Unit, which has been put into service within the Izmir City Hospital, the use of medication during pregnancy is evaluated through a multidisciplinary approach by Perinatology and Medical Pharmacology specialists. The most appropriate treatment plan is established by jointly considering the patient's condition, the week of gestation, and the medications being used.
Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Yaprak Üstün stated that the unit's objective is to protect maternal and fetal health in the safest manner possible, in light of scientific data.
